Job summary

Tindall Corporation, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance team. You will learn the skills of a Class A Maintenance Mechanic, including routine tune-ups of machinery and building maintenance, while working alongside trained mechanics to diagnose and repair equipment.

Safety and quality rules govern all work. You will examine machines, dismantle and reassemble, replace worn parts, make adjustments, and help overhaul engines,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Must follow safety and quality rules.

Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose source of trouble.
• Dismantle machines and reassemble when needed.
• Replace broken and worn parts; order replacements.
• Make adjustments to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain building structures and equipment and basic housekeeping of systems.
• Overhaul engines, fuel systems, and related components.
• Assist other maintenance mechanics as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Summary of Primary Functions:

Assist the Maintenance Mechanics in all work in order to learn the skills of a Class A Maintenance Mechanic. Work involves performing some activities of lesser skills independently such as; tune up of automobiles, general maintenance of building structures, replacement of worn-out parts, etc. But, also includes working hand-in-hand with trained mechanics in diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

• Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.
• Dismantle machines and reassemble if necessary.
• Replace broken and worn out parts; Order replacement parts if required.
• Make all necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.
• Keep in good repair the building structures and equipment; repairing plumbing fixtures, etc., motors occasional painting or touching up structures or equipment.
• Repair, rebuild, or overhaul internal combustion engines including replacement of piston rings, bearing, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves, rebuilding carburetors, etc.
• Overhaul transmissions, repair fuel injection, lighting and ignition systems.
• Assist other Maintenance Mechanics as needed.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.

Job Specifications or Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
