Job summary

Tindall Corporation, a leading precast concrete manufacturer, is seeking a skilled maintenance technician in Spartanburg, SC. The role supports diverse machinery and systems in a busy plant, requiring hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and safe operation of production equipment.

The ideal candidate will diagnose equipment issues, perform mechanical and electrical repairs, and collaborate with facilities teams to uphold safety and quality standards in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in maintenance or repair of plant equipment preferred.
• Must be able to read manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in machinery and equipment.
• Dismantle and reassemble machines as needed.
• Replace worn or broken parts and order replacements.
• Perform routine repairs on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Maintain safe work practices and quality standards.

Summary of Primary Functions: Maintain and repair all machinery or mechanical equipment in the plant. This job requires a broad range of experience on various types of equipment including automobiles, tractors, cranes, trailers, production machinery, Travelift, loaders, pick up trucks, lift trucks, etc. Also, includes knowledge of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, heating, air conditioning and sanitary systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

• Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble.

• Dismantle machines and reassemble if necessary.

• Replace broken and work out parts.

• Order replacement parts if required.

• Make all necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.

• Keep in good repair the building structures and equipment including electrical switches, fixtures, motors, occasional painting or touching up structures or equipment, repairing plumbing fixtures, etc.

• Repair, rebuild, or overhaul internal combustion engines including replacement of piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors, etc.

• Overhaul transmissions, repair fuel injection, lighting and ignition systems.

Job Specifications or Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience : High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
