Jimmy’s Gourmet Bakery in East Brunswick, NJ seeks a skilled Maintenance Mechanic for its Maintenance/Engineering team. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment to ensure safe, efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with electrical/mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and CMMS. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, and NJ boiler license is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to keep machinery operating efficiently.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Work with equipment up to 480V.
• Operate CMMS to complete work orders.
• Follow safety procedures, GMPs, and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

Jimmy’s Gourmet Bakery is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our Maintenance/Engineering team in East Brunswick, NJ. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

The ideal candidate has experience working with electrical and mechanical systems, enjoys troubleshooting equipment issues, and can perform preventative maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to keep machinery operating efficiently.
• Repair and replace machine components, including bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches.
• Diagnose equipment issues by inspecting machinery and identifying the root cause of malfunctions.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Work with production equipment operating at voltages up to 480V.
• Complete assigned work orders using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Perform machine safety checks and complete required process documentation.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Recommend equipment and process improvements to support productivity and quality.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate outstanding issues between shifts.
• Follow all safety procedures, GMPs, and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workspace.
• Be available for overtime and on-call support as needed to address equipment breakdowns and maintain production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment.
• Experience working with equipment up to 480V required.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
• NJ Boiler License preferred but not required.
