Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks a Maintenance Helper trainee to repair, overhaul, maintain, install and modify equipment and facilities. Trainees may advance to Maintenance Mechanic II after a 12–24 month training period based on company needs.

Training includes approximately 2100 hours of on-the-job and formal instruction, with PCC's Forklift Driving Safety Certification and possibly Hazardous Materials Handling Training.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of PCC's Maintenance Helper program after one to two years or equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.
• Experience in welding, torch cutting and/or fabrication.
• Ability to read, interpret and follow specifications in manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Valid driver's license; may be required to drive PCC vehicles.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities.
• Fabricate modifications to equipment and facilities as required.
• Troubleshoot vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, induction and arc melting, lubrication, abrasive and pressure cleaning systems and their components.
• Maintains machine tools and equipment used for maintenance.
• Complete logs and records.
