Job summary

Electrical Automation Services seeks a dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join its stable, long-established production team in Carol Stream, IL. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on high-speed production line equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting food safety and continuous improvement efforts in a can-manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

Two years of experience as a Production Line Mechanic or Technician preferred or equivalent technical education.
Experience with packaging equipment or can-making equipment is a plus.
Understanding of automation principles and controls logic is a plus.
Ability to use maintenance shop equipment and work in hot conditions, stand for long periods, and crawl under equipment.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on high-speed production line equipment, including drives and conveyors.
Collaborate with Electrical staff to diagnose and repair electrical issues on packaging and processing equipment.
Perform routine preventative maintenance safely, cost effectively, and on schedule.
Support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Order design or fabrication of replacement parts or equipment as needed.
