Qualifications

Job description

Maintenance Mechanic - First Shift

Jagemann Stamping is seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Mechanic to provide mechanical maintenance, service and repair support to the facility and equipment. The successful candidate will improve equipment performance and reduce downtime through skilled problem solving and regular maintenance.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs mechanical and hydraulic repair on equipment by fixing or replacing worn parts. Maintains proper alignment of equipment and maintains the original machine manufacturer's specifications described in their technical guides, service manuals, prints and schematics.

Assembles, fits, aligns components such as bearings, gears, gear drives, chain drives, couplings, clutches, attaching motors and connecting belts, etc. all according to original manufacturers specifications.

Diagnose malfunctions and repair/replace defective parts, and the occasional requirement to fabricate a replacement part.

Works with or without complex schematics, diagrams or machine design prints. May include the requirement to develop and draw sketches and/or schematics.

Performs repairs on pumps, hoists, motors, conveyors, washers, material reels, air compressors, forklift trucks, presses, stock straighteners, lift trucks, shop vehicles and other equipment.

Assists pressroom and tool room personnel in the analysis of equipment breakdowns and performance problems, the development of solutions and the implementation of corrective actions.

Uses problem solving techniques to assure cause and effect analysis, root cause assessment and implement corrective action.

Uses preventive maintenance and scheduled maintenance to ensure the continuous orderly, organized and smooth operation of equipment and the facility. Recommend design improvements to enhance equipment longevity.

Responsible for the cleanliness, housekeeping and preventive maintenance of tools, equipment, benches and surrounding work area.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma, Associates degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Maintenance preferred.

A minimum of three years of industrial maintenance experience is required.
