Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Engineering Department across the hospital campus. You will perform preventive maintenance, install, repair, and modify building systems and equipment to ensure a safe, functional environment for patients and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of general maintenance experience; hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of general maintenance experience required.
• Prior hospital/healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools and work at varying heights as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of general maintenance duties in support of the Engineering Department, including changing light fixtures, resetting breakers, cleaning and installing light panels, and repairing sockets and wiring.
• Utilize proper techniques and equipment to install, maintain, and repair a variety of interior and exterior finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
• Maintain a continuous supply of medical gases by replacing tanks and coordinating reorders as needed.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and staging equipment while performing maintenance and repair tasks.
• Assist with general facility upkeep to ensure a safe, functional, and well‑maintained environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
