UVM Health - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to repair and maintain a wide range of equipment. This role includes primary shift 11:00pm–7:30am, with secondary rotations 7:00am–3:30pm and 3:00pm–11:30pm to ensure 24/7 coverage.

The position requires strong mechanical ability, experience in electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, and the ability to read work orders and follow instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and insurable.
• Strong mechanical ability and decision-making skills.
• Formal training in electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC or 2–3 years on‑the‑job experience.
• Experience with electric and oxygen/acetylene welding, brazing, soldering preferred.
• Ability to follow written instructions and work orders.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to communicate well with Supervisors, co-workers, hospital staff, patients and visitors.
• Professionalism; work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with snow removal, painting, plastering, finishing preferred.
• NYS asbestos O&M certification preferred or within 12 months.
• ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Outlet Testing Certification within 12 months.

Responsabilités

• Repair rolling, fixed, and portable equipment.
• Perform electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance.
• Complete specified preventive maintenance duties.
• Perform daily maintenance on all equipment.
• Rotational shift coverage to provide 24-hour maintenance.
