Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an HVAC Maintenance technician to support hospital facilities with installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems across multiple units. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and timely response to equipment issues.

Responsibilities include inspecting machine rooms, performing boiler and chiller maintenance, and ensuring logs are up to date. A basic IT footing for maintenance records is expected, with on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years HVAC experience.
• EPA CFC Recovery Certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Knowledge of pneumatic temperature controls and related systems.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance logging and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC equipment and systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hot water, heating, and chilled water systems.
• Inspect machine rooms and logs, ensuring proper operation and records.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with safety standards.
• Respond to calls and emergencies; participate in on‑call responsibilities.
