Job summary

The Gill Corporation, a leading supplier of aircraft materials, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain machinery, engines, conveyors and production equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will inspect, troubleshoot, replace parts and lubricate systems to keep operations safe and efficient.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience, plus a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ related experience.
• English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read and communicate procedures.
• Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and locates causes of trouble.
• Inspects parts for wear and dimensional changes.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates/cleans components.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools.
• Work may require rotating shifts and weekends.

The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.The Gill Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic who repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic’s responsibilities will include the following.Responsibilities:Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs.Must be able to work any shift (1, 2 or 3) and weekends as assigned.Other essential duties may be assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
