Job summary

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain machinery and production equipment at our California facility. You will inspect parts, replace defective components, and set up metalworking tools to fabricate needed parts.

Responsibilities include lubricating and adjusting devices, supporting preventive maintenance, and working various shifts including weekends. A minimum of 5 years’ related experience and a valid CA driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years’ related mechanical experience.
• Basic read/write English to understand procedures.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work variable shifts.

The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.The Gill Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic who repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic’s responsibilities will include the following.Responsibilities:Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs.Must be able to work any shift (1, 2 or 3) and weekends as assigned.Other essential duties may be assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
