Are you looking for a career with great benefits and longevity? BAE Systems may be the answer to your search. Our Jacksonville, Florida Ship Repair Division is seeking to hire an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support our Facilities Department.

The selected candidate must be able to work with limited supervision on a daily basis, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and basic electrical systems. The candidate will be expected to work 40 hours each week, with overtime as needed.

Other job duties include:

1. Maintain preventative and corrective maintenance files
2. Identify repair parts
3. Operate forklifts and aerial lifts
4. Refuel generators, forklifts, trucks, and high-reach equipment
5. Perform diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment
6. Install, troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain shop equipment including pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, controls, instrumentation, lathes, boring machines, saws, milling machines, and similar machinery
7. Complete assigned work safely and efficiently, following BAE Company Procedures and Policies
8. Disassemble and assemble shop machinery and equipment as directed

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Minimum of three years of industrial maintenance experience
• High school diploma or GED
• Highly motivated and eager to learn
• Ability to use Windows-based computer software is a plus
• Willing to work varying shifts
• Knowledge of machine shop equipment, repair, and maintenance
• Minimum of 2 years of rolling stock equipment maintenance experience
• Ability to read and understand schematics and manuals to identify parts and perform maintenance
• Experience with machinery repair requiring close tolerances and precise setup
• Experience with precision measurement tools and calibration procedures
• Ability to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot equipment
• Experience with metalworking tools such as lathes, mills, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and welding
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to obtain and maintain DBIDS access

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• 10 years of maintenance mechanic experience desired
• Maritime ship repair experience is a plus

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $35,048 - $62,400

Note: Salary is determined by various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions.
