Job summary

Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Lawrence, Kansas is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to repair, maintain, and install machinery and equipment, and to assemble, level, and connect equipment.

You will read blueprints, work with electrical systems, hydraulics, and safety procedures, and you may train operators. The role requires working Sunday through Friday overnight shift 11:30pm–7:30am, with slight +/- 30 minutes. Relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience demonstrating mechanical and electrical ability.
• Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift and carry items weighing up to 50-100 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk; frequently bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, and reach.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Job description

As a Maintenance Specialist you will:

• Repair, maintain, and install machinery and equipment
• Assemble, level, and connect equipment (electrical, air, gas, water)
• Dismantle and reassemble machines as needed
• Modify or build new equipment to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
• Train operators and supervisors on new or updated equipment
• Work flexibly across different areas and always prioritize safety
• Perform duties in accordance with sound safety practices.

The ideal candidates is:

• Skilled in machinery repair, electrical work, and welding.
• Proficient with electronics, schematics, and ladder logic.
• Experience with lathe, milling machines, and industrial systems.
• Strong in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication.
• Able to read blueprints, follow safety procedures, and handle hazardous materials.

The hours for this position are Sunday - Friday 11:30pm - 7:30am. Shift may vary +/- 30 minutes on beginning and end of shift time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience that successfully demonstrates mechanical and electrical ability.
• Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift and carry items weighing up to 50-100 lbs frequently and 100+ lbs occasionally.
• Ability to constantly stand and walk. Ability to frequently bend, twist, kneel, squat, climb, and reach at/above shoulder level.
• Ability to frequently work in awkward positions and occasionally work from ladders.
• Must have basic computer skills.

This position is located in Lawrence, Kansas. Relocation is not provided.
