Job Description Maintenance Mechanic: Rockton, Illinois

Our customer in Dakota, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Production Line Maintenance Technicians to work full-time on 3rd shift. As a Production Line Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of production machinery and facility equipment to support smooth manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic:

• Analyze equipment issues and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Conduct mechanical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility equipment.
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and validate completed repairs.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Troubleshoot equipment and plant mechanical systems to develop and implement sustainable solutions.
• Complete assigned work orders efficiently and maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records.
• Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, providing troubleshooting support as needed.
• Identify required parts for repairs and maintain inventory to ensure timely reorders.
• Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and contribute process improvement suggestions.
• Pursue ongoing development of maintenance and leadership skills through assigned training programs.
• Support Facility Maintenance operations as needed.

Maintenance Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications:

• Education: Technical training in a maintenance-related field or a minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience (required).
• Experience: Previous experience in food manufacturing (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge: Strong mechanical background with proficiency in the use of power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment (required).
• Software Skills: Basic computer proficiency (required).
• Abilities: Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams (required).
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and operate man lifts and scissor lifts (required).

Starting at $26-34/hour.
