Maintenance Mechanic

Shift: 6pm - 6am, Friday through Sunday

Join us as our new Maintenance Mechanic

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance activities on cGMP process equipment, utility systems, and facilities. This position requires weekend work with hours from 6am-6:30pm, Friday to Sunday.

In this role, you'll make an impact by:

• Repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment typical of a probiotic manufacturing facility.
• Collaborating with coworkers to determine root causes of failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Completing required documentation (paper and electronic) for preventative and corrective maintenance, equipment start-up, decommissioning, etc., following cGMP quality system standards.
• Maintaining operation of cGMP utility equipment, including HVAC, Dust Collection, Coolers, Air Compressors, Lighting, Electrical, Water/Plumbing systems.
• Responding to unscheduled equipment downtime and documenting activities.
• Managing inventory and requisitioning machine parts, equipment, and supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Supporting training of maintenance and operations staff.
• Providing setup and start-up support for operators as needed.
• Participating in initiatives to improve equipment or system efficiency, reduce energy costs, and other cost-saving projects.
• Strictly adhering to cGMP and SOPs, and reporting discrepancies.
• Writing or modifying preventive maintenance procedures.

To succeed, you must have:

• An Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in food ingredients, live cultures, or pharmaceuticals.
• Knowledge of GMP, inspection guidelines, sanitation, food regulations, and product safety.
• Excellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Functional understanding of motors, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, pumps, agitators, alignments, seal replacements, chillers, boilers, tools, gear pullers, hydraulic presses, and office maintenance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to continuously learn. A positive attitude and willingness to teach others about process equipment.
• Ability to comply with company policies and maintain regular attendance.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
• Availability for on-call support as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
