Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Permanent Maintenance Mechanic to join our Engineering team near Boston, MA. You will maintain pumps, machinery, and control systems to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic role.
• Extensive knowledge of machine maintenance, pneumatics, motors, and repair.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.
• Strong safety knowledge and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to read manuals and work orders; proficient with MS Office.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them in a timely manner.
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
• Understand and implement complex machinery operations, including pneumatics and motors.
• Maintain detailed records of performed work, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Collaborate with other staff members to optimize performance and output.
• Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic role in the Engineering industry.
• Extensive knowledge of Machine Maintenance Tech, Pneumatics, Motors, and Repair.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues with machinery and equipment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports, order parts, and maintain records.
• Willingness to work overtime and on weekends as required.
