Job summary

Jobot is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Mechanic for our client south of Boston, MA. The role focuses on maintaining pumps, pneumatics, motors, and general equipment to minimize downtime in a chemical manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a solid safety mindset. This is a permanent on-site position offering competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree inMechanical Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as maintenance mechanic.
• Knowledge of machine maintenance, pneumatics, motors, and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
• Strong safety awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them promptly.
• Repair or replace broken components of machinery and equipment.
• Understand complex machinery operations, including pneumatics and motors.
• Maintain detailed records of work, repairs, and parts used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
• Collaborate with staff to optimize performance and output.
• Assist in installation of new machinery and equipment.
• Provide emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance during production.

Job Details: We are seeking a seasoned Permanent Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic Engineering team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional who possesses a strong understanding of pumps, machine maintenance, pneumatics, motors, and repair. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery, minimizing downtime, and maintaining our equipment in top-notch condition. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• 1. Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify and respond to signs of malfunction.


• 2. Perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.


• 3. Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them in a timely manner.


• 4. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.


• 5. Understand and implement complex machinery operations, including pneumatics and motors.


• 6. Maintain detailed records of performed work, repairs, and parts used.


• 7. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.


• 8. Collaborate with other staff members to optimize performance and output.


• 9. Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment.


• 10. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

Qualifications

• 1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.


• 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic role in the Engineering industry.


• 3. Extensive knowledge of Machine Maintenance Tech, Pneumatics, Motors, and Repair.


• 4. Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues with machinery and equipment.


• 5. Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• 6. Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.


• 7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


• 8. Ability to work independently as well as in a team.


• 9. Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.


• 10. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work in confined spaces.


• 11. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.


• 12. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete reports, order parts, and maintain records.


• 13. Willingness to work overtime and on weekends as required.
