Position: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Memphis TN (President Island)

Wage: Starting at $35.71 to $42.64

Shift: Currently looking for 2 roles: 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift

While reporting to the Plant Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor, as the Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform maintenance tasks, specifically proactive tasks, to ensure high-quality, efficient, and timely shipment of Sonoco products. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are integral to the Sonoco culture.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Installing and maintaining auxiliary equipment as required by production.
2. Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Plant Engineer.
3. Assisting/training other maintenance personnel with repairs, preventive maintenance, and rebuilds.
4. Collaborating closely with other departments and teams for proactive problem resolution.
5. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
6. Managing small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
7. Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies.

We'd love to hear from you if:

• You have experience in an industrial environment or military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• You have experience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial and motor controls.
• You are comfortable with mechanical lifts, ladders, kneeling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• You are comfortable with overtime.
• You can work independently and manage multiple tasks in an off-shift position with rotating shifts that may require overtime, including weekends.
