Bull Moose Tube is seeking to hire a full-time Maintenance Mechanic for 3rd shift (4:00 p.m. - midnight) at our Chicago Heights, IL location. *Must have schedule flexibility.

Job Summary

Responsible for mechanical servicing and maintenance of machinery, equipment, the physical plant, utilities, and grounds. Use and operate tools and equipment to inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery such as mills, slitters, and tool room equipment. Ensure all plant functions operate safely and efficiently, adhering to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Ability to read and use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
2. Experience in maintenance, including preventive maintenance and lubrication.
3. Ability to operate maintenance machinery like drill presses and grinders.
4. Ability to read mechanical blueprints.
5. Capability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
6. Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
7. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, crawl, and bend frequently during 8-16 hour shifts.
8. Willingness to work in environments without climate control.
9. Flexibility to work overtime and various shifts.

Requirements

1. Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing, with an associate degree or certificate in industrial maintenance, or at least 4 years relevant experience.
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read signs and collaborate effectively.
3. Proficiency with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, gearboxes, bearings, and conveyor systems.
4. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and machine shop tools.
5. Ability to weld and torch cut.

*Electrical maintenance experience is a plus.*
