Job Summary

Specialty Granules LLC (SGI) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic at their Charmian Plant in Blue Ridge Summit, PA.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic works within the Maintenance Department, partnering closely with Operations to minimize Plant downtime. The role requires working various shifts, overtime, and weekends as assigned.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment and pass the Ramsey Mechanical Aptitude Test with a minimum score of 70%.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Perform craft duties involved in construction, maintenance, lubrication, troubleshooting, and repair work on buildings and equipment.
• Assist with construction, maintenance, and repair work across the Plant.
• Use mechanic hand tools, overhead hoist, man lifts, etc., for dismantling and assembling equipment.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as required.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Ensure safety standards are met or exceeded, including guarding, walkways, fall protection, PPE, lockout/tag out, etc.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work outdoors in non-climate-controlled environments, including dirt, grease, rough terrain, and inclement weather.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, with frequent bending, standing, and stooping.
• Proven safety record.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
• Strong sense of urgency in completing tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Electrical and/or maintenance certification, proficiency qualification, or apprenticeship desired.
• Knowledge of conveyors, crushers, pumps, hydraulics, screens, rotary dryers, bucket elevators preferred.
• Welding skills (stick, MIG, oxygen-acetylene cutting) desired.
