UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Facilities & Biomedical Support technician to perform routine to skilled maintenance, repairs, and alterations of building systems and medical facilities. The role requires adherence to safety policies and regulatory standards while minimizing patient impact.
The successful candidate will inspect equipment, diagnose issues, perform preventive tasks, and pursue ongoing training in relevant trades within a large academic health system.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine-to-skilled general preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration and modification of building, equipment, and facilities. May perform painting duties. Must be willing to perform work at times designated by employer in order to minimize patient, staff exposure and minimize interference with normal clinic activities. Must conform to productivity standards as set forth in the American Hospital Association Table of Standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) year general maintenance experience required. 1 to 3 years general maintenance experience preferred. Hospital or healthcare facility maintenance experience preferred.
