Maintenance Mechanic - Belvidere, IL

As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of processing and packaging equipment and providing technical support to improve and optimize within the manufacturing operations and processes.

Shift hours:

• 12-hour shifts - 5 on, 3 off, 2 on, 5 off, 4 on, 2 off, 3 on, 4 off schedule
  • Day Shift: 6 am to 6 pm
  • Night Shift: 6 pm to 6 am
• Currently hiring for Night Shift
  • Eligibility for available shift schedule changes after 6 months
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency events
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per week

Pay:

• $28.90 per hour
• Shift differential - additional $2.00 per hour for night shift

  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools, and equipment
  • Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Providing technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and modifications
  • Understanding, initiating, and participating in Root Cause Analysis (Why, Why)
  • Performing uptime and downtime preventative maintenance
  • Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Assisting in training new employees

What you have to offer:

• Minimum of a high school education or GED
• At least 3 years of industrial maintenance or related experience
• Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical motors, gearboxes, and troubleshooting tools
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting
• Ability to work at heights using stairs, ladders, or lifts
• Wear protective clothing and equipment as required
• Work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, and wet environments
• Work around high-speed machinery and with potential allergens
