Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: South Plainfield, NJ

Pay: $25/hr+ (depending on experience)

A client in South Plainfield, NJ is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic. This is a permanent position working 8-hour shifts, primarily on third shift. The role involves performing maintenance tasks on facilities and mechanical equipment, including repairs and inspections. The focus will be on semi-independent preventative maintenance on PCB equipment, such as maintaining and replacing fans, motors, pumps, and chemical tanks. The Lead Mechanic will also guide a team and handle hands-on mechanical duties.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing maintenance and repairs on facilities and mechanical equipment
• Conducting preventative maintenance on PCB production and supporting equipment
• Recommending parts and product replacements to reduce costs
• Responding to equipment issues via Fixx software and prioritizing repairs
• Monitoring equipment to ensure efficiency and safety
• Fabricating PCB pipes and fittings, and executing precise mechanical work
• Adhering to strict safety protocols

Required Skills and Experience:

• Valid New Jersey license and personal transportation
• High school diploma, GED, or Trade School; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred for Lead Mechanic
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• Experience repairing electrical circuits and troubleshooting PCB or other production equipment
• Experience working with 460 Volt 3-phase electrical systems and CMS systems

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

• Experience with HVAC, welding, and related skills
• Proficiency with power tools
• Familiarity with PLC systems
• Experience working with chemicals
• Willingness to work weekends and after hours as needed
