Job summary

ExplorUS in Shenandoah National Park is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the Maintenance Department, manage budgets, and lead a team tasked with keeping park facilities and grounds in top condition. You will supervise skilled staff and coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance across a range of disciplines.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a proactive approach to safety and quality standards, with an annual salary in the listed range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• College degree or technical/trade school is preferred.
• OSHA general industry or construction certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years of management experience leading a Maintenance team.
• Minimum 5 years of construction/maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all maintenance staff are properly qualified and trained for their assignments.
• Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following inspection procedures.
• Hands-on maintenance across multiple disciplines and support for related tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and landscaping.
• Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and facilities.
• Comply with safety standards and ISO environmental/quality policies in daily duties.
• Provide polite, knowledgeable customer service when responding to visitor inquiries.
• Communicate with GM and Director of Maintenance Operations on property projects.
• Operate a computer-based planned preventive maintenance program and schedule repairs.
• Adhere to budgets and reporting processes and manage labor costs.
