Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance teams across press, weld, and crib areas, manage daily tasks, enforce safety, and drive reliability and productivity.

The role requires an associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or technical discipline, 3–5 years in maintenance leadership, and experience with predictive and preventive maintenance programs and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or technical discipline strongly preferred.
Three to five years of work experience in a maintenance leadership role covering multiple shifts.
Experience with predictive and preventative maintenance programs is required.
Willingness to obtain operating licenses (hi-lo, crane, lift, etc.).
Automotive industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead maintenance employees across multiple disciplines and assign daily tasks.
Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations for presses, welds, and crib maintenance.
Ensure safety procedures are followed and implement improvement projects.
Maintain predictive and preventative maintenance programs using established metrics and PM plans.
Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs as needed.
Drive continuous improvement to increase productivity, quality, and output.
