Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a qualified Press Maintenance Mechanic for a 3rd shift (10 PM–6 AM) at our Walker, MI plant. You will install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools, document downtime in Plex, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to ensure optimal operation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of machine repair experience, with preferred 10+ years and robotics/press-specific training. Journeyman certification is a plus and English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of Machine Repair experience.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of Machine Repair experience (preferred).
• Robotics training (preferred).
• Press specific training (preferred).
• Journeyman card or Machine Repair Journeyman Apprenticeship Completion or equal education/contact hours (preferred).
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at a level sufficient to safely perform job duties.

Responsibilities

• Follow specified maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools.
• Utilize Plex to document downtime codes.
• Read mechanical and electrical prints for troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot, isolate and repair manufacturing machinery & equipment.
• Provide coaching and direction to Press Maintenance Mechanics level I.
• Develop maintenance and repair procedures for production equipment and tools.
• Complete and manage work orders via the Plex systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and update preventive maintenance schedules.
