Job summary
Challenge Manufacturing, a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, seeks an Automation Engineer to troubleshoot, maintain and improve highly automated controls, robotic and welding systems on the 1st shift in Pontiac, MI. You will design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other equipment, lead in troubleshooting, and drive continuous improvement to reduce cycle times and standardize equipment.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, brings at least 2 years of
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Rockwell software and AB CompactLogix, Guard Logix, PanelView plus platforms
- Electrical knowledge: install hardware and wiring
- Program and debug automated robotic welding, sealing and assembly systems
- Able to program PanelView (HMI) and PLC
Responsibilities
- Design and program PLC, HMI, robots and other equipment
- Lead in troubleshooting of malfunctioning equipment
- Drive continuous improvement: cycle time reduction, standardization, error-proofing
