Job summary

Albertsons Companies in Melrose Park, IL is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead repair and upkeep of the retail MHE fleet and building systems at the Melrose Park Distribution Center. You will drive maintenance performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage safety programs.

The role requires strong budgeting, capital project oversight, and experience in a unionized environment, with CMMS data management and cross-functional collaboration to sustain efficient warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 4 years management experience in refrigerated distribution.
• Strong knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and PSM/OSHA compliance.
• Familiar with NFPA codes (NFPA 20, 13, E-70).
• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CMMS.
• Able to manage large capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage repair and maintenance of the retail MHE fleet and coordinate with store personnel.
• Set and monitor maintenance performance targets.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, NFPA and related laws.
• Manage labor relations and grievances with unions and employees.
• Ensure facility and equipment meet regulatory requirements.
• Train staff in safe operation and repairs of equipment.
• Oversee capital development, cost estimation and project management.
• Oversee refrigeration systems operation (ammonia, boilers, chillers) and PSM.
• Maintain CMMS data for assets, purchasing and inventory.
• Develop a collaborative work environment within distribution.
• Assist in creating or modifying workflow procedures.
