The Maintenance Manager oversees all mechanical and electrical maintenance activities within the galvanizing facility, ensuring equipment reliability, facility safety, and regulatory compliance. This includes managing a team of maintenance personnel, implementing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating with external contractors, and minimizing plant downtime through strategic repairs and maintenance planning. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading tank and kettle changes, hazardous material management, and ensuring proper inventory levels for critical spare parts and materials.

DUTIES

Oversee plant-wide mechanical and electrical maintenance functions with an emphasis on minimizing downtime and reducing costs.

• Implement and manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program, including scheduling routine checks and repairs.
• Supervise and develop the maintenance team, providing necessary training and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with external contractors to ensure quality work and compliance with safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DEEP, and other applicable regulations, maintaining necessary records and reports.
• Oversee hazardous material handling, disposal, and employee training regarding safety and hazardous materials.
• Ensure proper management of spare parts and maintenance equipment inventory.
• Support production by administering predictive analysis programs for tank chemistry and ensuring all chemical samples are properly analyzed.
• Ensure 24-hour emergency availability for critical maintenance issues.
• Lead facility housekeeping initiatives and enforce safety policies.

REQUIRMENTS:

• 5-10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements related to galvanizing and hazardous materials
• Proficiency in managing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment.
• Experience managing a maintenance team, including training, development, and performance management.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and other maintenance tracking software.
• Understanding of inventory management systems for spare parts and materials.
• Safety consciousness to prevent accidents and ensure plant personnel and equipment safety.
