Premium Manufacturing Facility | Columbia, MO
We're hiring a Maintenance Manager to lead a high-performing maintenance team at a state-of-the-art specialty manufacturing facility in Columbia, Missouri.
You'll step into a leadership position where your technical expertise and team development skills directly drive plant performance, reliability, and growth. This is a consolidated role designed to give you real operational impact across all maintenance functions: equipment reliability, team leadership, preventive maintenance strategy, cost management, and continuous improvement.
You'll report to the Plant Engineer and partner directly with Operations, Engineering, and corporate technical teams. Your success means fewer shutdowns, stronger technician development, better asset performance, and a plant that runs like clockwork.
Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and electricians across all production areas, utilities, and facility systems. You'll develop talent, drive accountability, and build a safety-first culture where people want to stay.
Own every critical maintenance KPI: equipment uptime, downtime reduction, PM compliance, and labor efficiency. You'll design preventive and predictive maintenance programs that actually stick, then measure what matters.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective action on major equipment issues. Work with specialized processing equipment across production, packaging, refrigeration, and utilities. You'll coordinate planned shutdowns and equipment installations without losing a beat on production.
Build and manage annual maintenance budgets. Control costs without cutting corners on reliability or safety. You'll manage inventory, supplier relationships, spare parts strategy, and contractor performance.
Support compliance across USDA, OSHA, GMP, SQF, and HACCP standards. Guide the team through audits and keep everyone safe every single day.
You've got a minimum 7 years leading maintenance teams in food manufacturing, meat processing, or high-volume industrial manufacturing. You've managed budgets, led teams through change, and driven real continuous improvement results.
You understand specialized processing equipment and how to keep it running reliably. You've worked in fast-paced, high-volume environments where downtime isn't an option. Ideally you bring hands-on technical depth in mechanical, electrical, or control systems, or you've managed all three.
You're a builder. You coach people up, delegate effectively, hold teams accountable, and celebrate wins. You think strategically about asset management and long-term reliability, but you also roll up your sleeves when needed.
You're comfortable with extended hours, weekends, and holidays when the business demands it. You work well cross-functionally and communicate clearly with people at all levels.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent combination of hands-on experience and education considered.
Strong experience with PLC systems, automation, controls, and troubleshooting will set you apart.
Equal opportunity employer including disability and veterans.
