Dayton Freight Lines, Inc. is launching a Maintenance/Shop Management Trainee Program in Rockford, IL. This 24-week, hands-on experience invites recent graduates to join a team, gain exposure to all areas of our operations, and develop leadership skills for future roles in our shops.

The program includes rotation across shifts and a clear path to leadership, with starting compensation of $60,000–$70,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college is required.
• Ability to relocate to any Dayton Freight Service Center.
• Willing to rotate among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts during training.

Responsibilities

• Learn the LTL industry while supporting operations.
• Gain leadership experience and participate in shop maintenance activities.
• Develop shop and maintenance knowledge during the program.

This 24-week, hands‑on job experience offers the opportunity for each Trainee to become part of a team, expand upon their experience, actively participate in all areas of Dayton Freight's operations, as well as gain knowledge of our Company, culture, and the Transportation Industry. Additionally, the program educates each individual on future‑based leadership skills so that upon completion of the 24-weeks, they are confident and competent to take on a leadership position within one of our Shops.
