Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Lead to supervise the maintenance team at our Kindig Lane facility. This hands-on leadership role focuses on reliability, safety, and efficient operation of packaging lines and other equipment.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and PLC-controlled machinery, manage parts inventory, and drive 5S improvements while ensuring GMP compliance and a strong safety culture across the plant.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent, hands-on with industrial equipment.
• HVAC or related field education suitable for Industrial Machinery Mechanics.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled equipment and packaging machinery.
• Knowledge of Ishida packaging equipment, Heat and Control fryers, and conveyor systems preferred.
• Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor a maintenance team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and data-driven decision making.
• Able to communicate with cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance team, prioritizing work orders and ensuring efficient completion.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled equipment including bagger machines, motors, drives, fryers, and packaging systems.
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies for repairs.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with GMP, OSHA, EPA, and Food Safety guidelines.
• Document maintenance activities in the EAM System for audits.
• Drive 5S processes to maintain an organized and safe work area.
• Identify opportunities to optimize maintenance processes and production efficiency.
