Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Maintenance Lead to guide a skilled maintenance team at our Kindig Lane facility. The role focuses on keeping equipment reliable, improving uptime, and ensuring GMP/OSHA compliance across packaging lines and process equipment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on PLC troubleshooting, strong mechanical skills, and leadership experience. This is a full-time, on-site position with a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or Trade School education in Industrial Machinery Mechanics, HVAC, or related fields.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled equipment, bagger machines, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance team, ensuring work orders are prioritized and tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to keep equipment running smoothly and minimize downtime.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled equipment, including bagger machines, motors, drives, fryers, and packaging systems.
• Maintain a controlled inventory of parts, tools, and supplies to ensure the Maintenance team has everything they need to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently.
• Ensure all maintenance work adheres to GMP, OSHA, EPA, and Food Safety guidelines while supporting the plant’s safety culture and compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of preventive maintenance, repairs, work orders, and other maintenance activities in the EAM System to comply with audit requirements.
• Drive the implementation of 5S processes to maintain an organized and clean work environment, contributing to safety and productivity.
• Identify opportunities to optimize the maintenance processes and contribute to ongoing improvements in production efficiency.
