Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee the Kindig Lane facility. This hands-on leadership role requires mechanical expertise, strong problem-solving, and the ability to guide a maintenance team to keep lines running efficiently.

You will manage preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, and ensure GMP, OSHA, EPA compliance while driving continuous improvements and 5S initiatives across the plant.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing bagger machines and industrial equipment.
• Proficient with PLC-controlled systems and electrical/mechanical maintenance.
• Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities.
• Knowledge of GMP/OSHA/EPA and food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the maintenance team to prioritize and complete tasks.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Maintain parts inventory and ensure tools are available.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, EPA and Food Safety guidelines.
• Document maintenance activities in the EAM system for audits.
• Drive 5S implementation for safe, organized work areas.
• Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and efficiency.
