Job summary

Bozzuto is seeking an Assistant Building Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across our communities in Washington DC. You will oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing and appliance repairs, manage turnover, and drive preventative maintenance programs while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance experience, and on-call availability to support residents and property operations. Competitive benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in trades, facilities and/or residential building maintenance.
• HVAC, EPA and/or NAPE certification.
• Knowledge of risk management, OSHA and MSDS.
• Proficiency with HVAC, plumbing, electrical trades and appliance repair.
• Basic carpentry, drywall and painting skills.
• Exposure to complex mechanical systems such as central plant, split systems, boilers and chillers.
• A safety mindset and an eye for detail.
• A builder’s mentality (know it like you built it!).
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Availability for emergency situations at the property, including an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Leading by example and being a role model for Bozzuto's standards and culture.
• Care and concern for residents through timely follow ups and service tickets.
• Resolving maintenance issues in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.
• Managing make-ready and apartment turnover to ensure leases.
• Preserving building value via preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintaining building aesthetics and safety, including grounds maintenance.
• Sustaining peak efficiency operation levels for property components.
• Adhering to building, county and safety codes; maintaining accident-free operation.
• Working weekends and participating in emergency on-call rotation.
