Job summary

Grande Cheese Company in Fond du Lac, WI, is seeking a Maintenance I Associate to support the safe, efficient operation of our facility. You will perform general and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and help keep production running smoothly on night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) and weekend hours.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic mechanical skills, and a safety‑minded attitude.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Six months of mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or related technical experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use tools, troubleshoot issues, and perform basic equipment repairs.
  • Willingness and ability to develop advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance skills through on-the-job training.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and mathematical skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities by inspecting, lubricating, adjusting, and replacing components to help maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Document maintenance activities, managing replacement part requests, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

What You Need to Be Considered for the Role

  • High School Diploma or GEDrequired
  • Six (6) months of mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or related technical experience
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely use tools, troubleshoot issues, and perform basic equipment repairs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previousmaintenance experience in dairy processing, food manufacturing, or a regulated production environment
  • Associate degree in a related field
  • Experience withstainless steelwelding, fabrication, or metalworking practices
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:

This role requires the ability to regularly lift and move materials, as well as frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion. The work environment includes exposure to production equipment, refrigerated conditions, and a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Employees are expected to follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements whilemaintaininga clean and organized workspace.
