Job summary

StoryPoint is seeking a Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager to oversee daily operations for maintenance and housekeeping staff across multiple facilities. You will plan workloads, supervise teams, enforce safety standards, and ensure compliance with building codes while coordinating with other departments to meet service quality goals.

The role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to train staff and manage schedules, budgets, and records.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Considerable knowledge of building maintenance practices, methods and techniques.
• Solid knowledge of safety standards and precautions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; sound problem solving.
• Demonstrate strong leadership abilities; ability to train staff on policies and duties.
• Ability to work under pressure and enforce safety regulations.
• Highly organized with schedules and records; attention to detail and following client direction.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance and housekeeping staff by determining workloads and schedules.
• Evaluates staff and makes hiring or termination recommendations; motivates staff to provide quality service.
• Maintains facilities per local and state building codes.
• Manages maintenance and housekeeping departments in terms of cost, methods, staffing; adheres to budgets and plans.
• Provides technical knowledge for maintenance projects and assists when needed; prepares service estimates and manages project budgets.
• Develops policies and procedures with leadership to achieve departmental goals.
• Negotiates contractor contracts and inspects work to ensure safety and procedures are followed.
• Ensures preventive maintenance is carried out and maintenance records are kept; evaluates equipment for replacement.
