Job summary

Leggett & Platt Salisbury is seeking a Maintenance Helper to join our maintenance team for the carpet underlay operation. You will assist mechanics and help keep equipment and facilities running smoothly.

Requires a high school diploma, strong communication, reading/writing and math skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Saturday work is required; training provided in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have good communication skills.
Must be able to read, write, and do advanced math.
Must be detail oriented and well organized.
Must be able to change from one task to another frequently.
Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed.
Available to work on required Saturday's.

Responsibilities

Assist the maintenance mechanics in installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance in the area.
Assist mechanics with dismantling machinery using hand, power and industrial tools for inspection and repair.
Complete daily maintenance paperwork for work orders and checklists.
Yard maintenance including mowing, weed eating and bush trimming.
Building repairs and maintenance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Take on special projects as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
