Job summary

Leggett & Platt Salisbury is seeking a Maintenance Helper to support the maintenance team in our carpet underlay operation. You will assist with installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance, and help maintain equipment and the work area.

The role emphasizes reading, writing, basic math, strong organization, and the ability to handle multiple tasks, including weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have good communication skills.
Must be able to read, write, and do advanced math.
Must be detail oriented and well organized.
Must be able to change from one task to another frequently.
Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
Operational knowledge of common hand, power, and industrial tools.
Maintain equipment and do basic repairs as needed.
Available to work on required Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Assist the maintenance mechanics engaged in installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance in the assigned area.
Assist maintenance mechanics in dismantling machinery or equipment using common hand, power, and industrial tools to examine parts for defects and repair or replacement.
Complete daily maintenance paperwork for assigned work orders/requests and checklists.
Yard maintenance including mowing, weed eating and bush trimming
Building repairs and maintenance
Maintain clean and organized work area.
Special projects/duties as assigned by maintenance supervisor.
