Job summary

Leggett & Platt Salisbury division is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support the production of carpet cushion by building and maintaining parts and machines and by implementing design improvements. You’ll work under the Maintenance Supervisor to advance current processes.

The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and performing preventative maintenance with safety as a priority. Some Saturday work may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Basic math literacy.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ability to use various hand tools.
• Available to work on some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment according to directions
• Read blueprints, schematics, then build to those specifications
• Use various machines and hand tools and power tools to accomplish assigned tasks
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs
• Periodically check products to ensure quality and alert supervisor
• Performs other related duties as assigned
