Job summary

Genesis HealthCare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Gallup, New Mexico to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly. You will perform a variety of small repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure a pleasing environment for residents.

The role involves basic HVAC maintenance, equipment upkeep, and stock handling. A high school diploma or equivalent and basic carpentry, wiring and plumbing knowledge are required. Various employee benefits are included in the package.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance tasks to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe and orderly.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs and related equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Move and stock supplies.
• Possibly assume Maintenance supervisor responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Posted Salary Range

USD $17.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
