Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Florence, AL seeks a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and well‑maintained condition. You will perform minor repairs, HVAC filter changes, stock supplies, and assist in supervising in the supervisor's absence.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry. The posted wage is $18 per hour, and benefits include health, dental, vision, company‑paid life insurance,

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.

Education

High school degree or equivalent; basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
