Job summary

Genesis Healthcare in Hurricane, WV is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly while maintaining a welcoming appearance for residents.

You will perform minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring and equipment, change HVAC filters, stock supplies, and may assume Maintenance supervisor responsibilities in absence of the supervisor.

A high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry are preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor\'s responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
