Genesiscareers in Cedar Grove, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the nursing center clean, safe, and well-maintained, including grounds upkeep and general tasks.

You will perform repairs on handrails, HVAC, electrical equipment, and assist with supply stocking. The role may involve assuming supervisor duties when the manager is away. A high school diploma and basic wiring/plumbing/carpentry knowledge are required, with a comprehensive benefits package available.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance tasks to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly.

• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift, and stock supplies.
• May assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in the supervisor's absence.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
