Job summary

Genesis in Cedar Grove, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition while upholding a pleasant appearance. This role supports our facilities team in a hands-on environment focused on resident well-being.

Applicants should have a high school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly pay.

• Basic wiring, plumbing and carpentry knowledge.
• Maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance Assistant completes tasks to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly with a pleasant appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers.
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies.
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
