Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hiring a full-time Maintenance Assistant. The facility is a 146-bed skilled nursing center in Worcester. Responsibilities include maintaining grounds, facilities, and equipment to support a safe and efficient maintenance program. Salary is $25 per hour with weekly pay.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; background in repair and maintenance. Benefits include weekly pay, holidays/overtime, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General background in repair and maintenance.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Must possess mechanical abilities for facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Recognize hazards to residents or staff safety and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment.
• Organize and prioritize tasks for maintenance workload.
• Replace, repair and purchase items per policy.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance and document it accurately.
• Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire and other hazards.
• Supervise outside contractors.
• Serve on-call for emergency and off-duty hours.
• Perform errands and tasks as required.
• Maintain upkeep of exterior of building and grounds in all weather conditions.
