Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Corrections seeks a Corrections Maintenance Foreman to lead inmate work crews in maintenance, groundskeeping, and basic construction, ensuring safe, functional facilities.

You will supervise trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work, coordinate tools and materials, and train crew members to follow proper procedures while supporting warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inmate work crews completing maintenance, groundskeeping, construction, and janitorial tasks.
• Provide guidance in equipment operation, basic maintenance practices, and proper work procedures.
• Perform or assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and related trades.
• Determine tools and materials needed and submit supply requests as needed.
• Issue, track, and inventory materials and tools; conduct searches for accountability.
• Assist with warehouse activities and related duties.
