Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Corrections seeks a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 3 to lead maintenance, construction and renovation projects. You will work with engineers, contractors, and facility staff to keep buildings secure and functional, ensuring safety, efficiency, and long-term planning.

Based in Mechanicsburg, PA, the role provides a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours weekly, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no telework option.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Two years as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Three years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including four years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Project Coordination: Plan, monitor, and support construction activities by reviewing designs, attending meetings, and overseeing contractor work
• Technical Oversight: Inspect facilities, evaluate equipment reliability, and confirm adherence to construction documents and standards
• Staff Guidance: Advise maintenance personnel, supervise inmate work crews, and provide oversight of repairs and improvements
• Policy Development: Create and implement maintenance policies to support safety, compliance, and efficient facility operations
• Field Inspection: Travel to facilities, perform progress inspections, and verify project completeness and adherence to department expectations
• Operational Support: Analyze mechanical issues, explore energy-saving solutions, and assist in planning for future maintenance needs
