Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking a Maintenance Foreman at Madison Correctional Facility in Madison, Indiana. You will lead a full-service maintenance team handling plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds issues, with a Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours per day schedule.

You will supervise incarcerated individuals when needed and help ensure safety and quality in daily operations. Salary starts at $42,900 and is commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing and painting trades.
• Ability to plan, schedule and supervise job sites.
• Ability to fill in for other foreman to ensure operation of the department.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and other remediation plans.

Responsibilities

• Solicit cost estimates or cost proposals.
• Estimate costs and work hours for maintenance projects.
• Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance and repairs of facilities.
• Maintain accountability of materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Recruit, onboard and train employees and incarcerated individuals when needed.
