Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a Maintenance Fitter Supervisor for the Hayes Asphalt Plant in London. You will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for PPM, fault finding, and reactive maintenance across all plant areas, including rail discharge systems.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, safety focus, and excellent communication. A willingness to work across multiple plants and participate in on-call duties is essential for this 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and plant equipment.
• Proactive approach to Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the asphalt plant and rail discharge systems.
• Perform fault finding and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Conduct plant safety inspections and develop safe systems of work (method statements, risk assessments).
• Record maintenance activities in Tarmac’s maintenance system and raise work requests.
• Assist with commissioning of new plant and equipment.
• Participate in regional/local maintenance meetings to support continuous improvement.
